My to-do list of future projects:
Keep an eye out for these and let me know if there's anything else you think I should try!
1. Toilet paper roll wall art- I've been working on this project for about a month now and it's still only about half of the size that I'd like it to be. However, just today my stepdad had a stroke of genius and suggested I use the wrapping paper rolls as well! I never even thought of that so I can't wait to try this tomorrow night and see if that does the trick with the collection I've had building up. Here's the inspiration photo for this piece:
2. Capiz lighting fixture- I just saw a tutorial on how to make this awesome light and I can't wait to try it out! Super cheap, this can be made with vellum or wax paper to look the same as shells :) This will likely take a while to make but looks so beautiful in the end!
These fixtures can cost about $130 at Pottery Barn or more at West Elm for $259... no thanks! I'm going to try to make one for under $20 and have it looks just as beautiful!
3. Thumbtack decorative balls- I saw this idea and LOVED it! So simple and easy to do, this is a really cheap idea for bowl filler rather than pot pouri or decorative pieces on a dish as a centerpiece on the table, or on a bookshelf etc. The best part is you can spray paint them whatever colours you want :)
4. Votive turned jewelery holder- I saw this awesome idea of a candle votive turned into a jewelery hanger and thought it was such a great idea! This one might be a gift rather than for myself because I've already made a jewelery organizer, but I can't resist!
5. Drum Chandelier Shade- My mom and stepdad moved into a new house recently and have a slightly "retro" Chandelier in the dining room that they want to change. I think this would be the perfect solution! It's beautiful and will cover the Chandlier in a modern way but avoids getting a whole new lighting fixture and dealing with the electrical work that comes with it!
6. Sunburst Mirror- So, I know I mentioned earlier that I didn't really have a use for a sunburst mirror but someone might and I saw this and thought it looked so neat ! I have to try it! It's made out of cereal boxes :)
7. Stenciled jars- I love the idea of these! They look super vintage chic and very personalized! I want to do something like this but with initial stenciling instead of a quote to go over someone's fire place who shall remain nameless ;) I also want to make them into candle holders as opposed to a vase, I think.
8. Chevron painted rug- I'm looking to add a little bit of personality to the plain white rugs in my bathroom by adding some texture and pattern to it like the one below. Now this is wall art, but I'm hoping the rug will take to paint if I do enough layers. Guess we'll have to wait and see!
9. Decorative mirrors- I actually found this photo on the "Wish List" portion of the Bower Power Blog linked to Z Gallerie's online store. Unfortunately it said the product wasn't found but after looking through some of their decorative mirrors, I found most were priced at around $130. I'm dying to make one of these as a DIY project!
